Something New

This blog is intended to be a narrative of some of the physical and mental wanderings of me.

For those faithful few who still do pleonast writing and reading: this is not a rejection of that outlet - I still intend to post there, as well as here.  Recently, I have been thinking it might be worth my while to have a more creative and expressive environment for my blogging efforts though - especially something beyond black backgrounds with white type. :-P So here I sit....

In the very near future, I'm planning on doing a series of posts on the trip that Kevin and I just took to the Mediterranean.  There was very much wandering and I'd like to share lots with you!  For now though, I'll start with the basic introductions for those who have not been on pleonast.

In just 2 days Kevin and I will have been married for 2 years!  What a crazy, fantastic 2 years!

In the first year we lived apart for 3 months (military stuff) and I made 4 moves.  1) June 2009 - we got married and moved into our first apartment.  2) I then moved home to Georgia just two months later while he went to Air Force bootcamp.  3) After 3 months in Georgia I moved to Texas to be with him during his tech school.  4) In June 2010 we moved to Ramstein, Germany!

Since moving here we have been taking advantage of the opportunities to travel and experience so many new things.  In the past year we have visited: France, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Sicily, Greece, Turkey, and Crete, as well as several spots in Germany.  Both of us feel blessed to have been given these experiences.

Something we've both come to terms with is: even when you live in Europe, you end up having a normal, sometimes stressful, everyday life full of work, shopping, chores, errands, etc.  Its not all cool new sites and revelations.  Kevin currently works 12 hour night shifts plus takes a couple of college courses and I work as a substitute teacher at the American elementary school here and teach Bible classes for the local congregation.  The shopping must be done, meals have to be cooked, and the toilet still needs to be scrubbed!  Apparently the luxurious European tour is only for the rich and famous haha!  But we'll take what we can get. :)

Anyways, I hope you enjoy following my blog....
